Fancy Nails

I started the day with another Bump and Grind hike - I just can't get enough. The view from up there is spectacular and it is a great morning work out! When I got home I rehydrated with some coconut water. The health freaks of California rave about this product, as it is rammed with potassium. To be honest, it tastes a bit like potato water.

After a serious tanning sesh, I decided to pamper myself a bit so I headed over to Fancy Nails for a mani and a pedi. I always get my nails done in California as it is sooo much cheaper here than in the UK or Sweden!

FUN FACT - In California, the "nail technicians" are ALL Vietnamese. Without fail. I don't actually think you could get a job at a nail parlor unless you are, in fact, Vietnamese.

I got the gel varnish - it lasts ages! I finished off my pamper sesh with a Starbucks coffee and a cosmopolitan before heading home.

Sunnylands

Finally arriving to Bermuda Dunes, having traveled for 18 hours, I woke up to blue skies and the feeling of home.  We decided to start the day with some good exercise, hiking up the "Bump and Grind" trail.

Porcupine Creek - a private golf course owned by the owner of the Oracle. Only his friends may play here. Including Obama who played here a few weeks ago during his visit. It is well hidden but you can see it from the trail!

After the hike and a pool lunch, my mum and I went and visited Sunnylands. Sunnylands is an equivalent of Camp David - a place where high profile politicians (and even royalty) meet to discuss important matters. Unfortunately I was not allowed to photograph inside the building but I managed to take some photos of the lovely gardens and the 9-hole golf course.

Next Up: Bermuda Dunes

I can't wait going back to this lovely place.

After the most hectic term (of MY LIFE) I am ready to go back to my parents in Bermuda Dunes, CA, for some sun, bloody mary's, family time, golf and polo.

Homemade Bloody Mary's, yum!

The country of polarity. Amongst all health freaks in the desert there are also the naughtiest of foods. Here at Ben and Jerry's.

Gorgeous sunrise. Around here everyone goes up at 6am, and to bed at 9pm.

“It is good to have an end to journey toward: but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” – Ernest Hemingway

Welcome to my new blog.

I tried blogging a few years ago but I guess my life just wasn't interesting enough to write about back then. I decided to give it a new try, as it is a way for me to keep my friends and family around the world up-to-date on my life.

I thought I would share my travels, my everyday life and my views on the power of mindset. Enjoy.
