El Paseo

After getting tired of laying out in the sun (it's A HUNDRED fahrenheit - insane) we wondered off to El Paseo. El Paseo is like the Rodeo Drive of the desert where all the fancy shmancy stores are. It is great for (window) shopping.

I'm happy after some shopping at Sephora.

After a quick change of clothes, we headed off to Adobe Grill in La Quinta, my favorite restaurant in the desert!

They played live music all night - this place is so beautiful and atmospheric! 

Can you believe this? You get your own human guacamole-maker. And he small-talks with you too, a bit like going to the hairdresser.

After this course I was waaay to caught up in my food to take any more pictures so y'all will simply have to make due.

Bermuda Dunes Country Club

So they finally got me on the golf course. 

Around here everyone has a golf cart - it is incredibly enjoyable to drive!

We had a party to go to in the evening. I'm wearing new shorts from Ralph Lauren, new sandals from Aldo and last year's body from Bikbok. 

There was a gorgeous sunset - will miss this place!

Crystal Cove

Yesterday we drove out to the coast as it is getting insanely hot in the desert (ca 36+ degrees). Instead of going to Laguna or Newport beach, we headed to a nature reservat close by called Crystal Cove State Park. It is a gorgeous little village of abandoned beach huts, cliffs and dolphins. Definitely going there again!

The water was ice cold however...

...so I stayed by the shore.

After a few hours we went to the popular Beachcomber (the only restaurant on the beach). My mum and I shared Mahi Mahi fish tacos and calamari. It was delish.

I didn't manage to capture any dolphins on camera. I did however get some pelicans! 

Strolling through Old Town La Quinta

Today we took a morning walk around Old Town La Quinta. Walking around this beautiful area you really feel like you are in Mexico or Central America - not in California. I guess the border isn't that far away.

Some of the houses here look like the set of a Western movie!

Even the street names are in Spanish! Calle, Avenida etc..

We found an outdoor gym so I played around for a bit..

Every Sunday they have a Farmers Market in Old Town.

I bought some Kombuchi - a fermented tea that I will take more about later! 

And then hanged out by Ann's pool for a few hours.. Great day so far!
